Dave Dyke - Chairman of the Board
Dave Dyke is an Educator of Commercial Floriculture
for The Ohio State University, Hamilton
County. He works closely with
businesses and organizations involved in the greenhouse and garden
center industries in the area, including the Cincinnati Flower
Growers Association, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, and
the Tri-State Green Industry Expo Committee.
He is in his 6th year as a Trustee, Hamilton
County Farm Bureau, Dave has a
BS
in Botany from
Marshall
University
and a MS in Horticulture from West Virginia
University
.
Dave is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys canoeing,
hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.
He would like to work closely with the Hamilton County Soil
& Water Conservation District to address agricultural and environmental issues through
joint programming and other cooperative efforts.
Thomas
W. Reininger -Vice
Chairman
Tom Reininger has been an
SWCD Supervisor since 1983. He serves on the District's Legislative and Urban committees. Tom is a resident
of Colerain Twp. where he serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals
and works as the Farm Manger of Walnut Creek Stables. In
addition to his local involvement, Tom has served
as the Past-President (2003 - 2005) of the Ohio Federation of Soil
and Water Conservation Districts and serves as the delegate from Ohio for the
National Association of Conservation Districts - North Central
Region. He is also an alternate delegate for the NACD Board of Directors.
Tom believes soil and water are critical components of our quality of life and serving on the
Board provides him with the opportunity to promote awareness of the value of
these finite resources in our county and across the state.
Denny Benson - Secretary
Denny has been employed for 29 years as
Director of Operations at the Broshear Contractors, Inc., a site
development contractor, located in Ross, Ohio. He has been a member
of the Ohio Valley development council since 1994 and served on the
Board of Directors since 2003. he also served on the Executive
Committee of the Ohio contractors Association since 1997 and was
Chairman of the Executive committee in 2002.
In 2001, Broshear Contractors Inc., was
presented with the "Contractor of the Year" award.
Denny and his family live in Colerain Twp..
He is a member of the St. James parish in White Oak and Assistant
Scoutmaster for Troop 24.
Nate Holscher - Treasurer Nate became
involved in conservation issues as an avid fisherman and an
occasional hunter. While maintaining these interests, he now works
on river protection issues full-time as Project Director for the
local non-profit organization Rivers Unlimited, a position he has
held since 2004. In his work with rivers
Unlimited, he has worked on dozens of river issues and overseen
the aerial surveillance of the many streams in southwest Ohio. He
has organized a variety of events that promote water quality in
the region and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with citizens
who share a concern for the protection of our resources. He is
also an active member of the Friends of the Great Miami River. Sam
McKinley Sam's interest in soil and water
conservation began as a Boy Scout in Hillsboro, Ohio. He is also
an avid camper. Sam holds a Bachelors of
Science degree un Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati
and is now pursuing his Master's Degree. He works part-time as the
local Director of the Sierra Club. His family now resides in
Clifton, Ohio.
