Stream Specialist - Brian Bohl provides technical
assistance/ educational opportunities for communities and watershed groups with respect to watershed protection and stream restoration. He educates landowners on stream management practices and water quality issues, administers the county logjam removal program, and coordinates with local watershed groups to develop comprehensive plans for stream protection. Brian also develops curriculum to assist communities in implementing the public education component of the Phase II NPDES Storm Water Program.
Brian’s interest in streams began as a youth in Lebanon, OH, where he explored natural areas of Warren County (OH). In 1995, he received a B.S. in Math-Environmental Science from Taylor University, located in Upland, IN. Brian then completed a Masters of Environmental Science degree in 1999 through Miami University’s (Oxford, OH) Institute of Environmental Sciences. Through his stream monitoring and restoration efforts, Brian has come to appreciate the unique circle of life that is supported by rivers and streams. He believes that the quality of our streams is a key indicator of the state of the environment where we live.
