Willie Potter

Design Technician II Willie started his career with the Hamilton County Planning Department in June of 1986 ‎and transferring to the Public Works Department in August 1990 as the first Earthworks ‎Design Technician II. He is the only person to maintain that position from its inception ‎until the present time. Willie attended the U.C. Civil Engineering Evening College from 1959 -1965, during ‎which time he worked for the City of Cincinnati Highway Department. He did not ‎complete the degree program, but continued to work in engineering with Harry Balke ‎Engineers and John Zorn Engineering until the mid 1970's

His current duties include the first phase of plan and application review received from the ‎Building Department and in some situations the property owners themselves. His duties ‎also include issuing permits and approvals, assisting builders with the earthwork ‎applications, plans and the general understanding of the earthwork regulations and ‎procedures. He must also keep accurate records of all the above duties.

Willie is pleased to be working for the District in order to assist in the protection of the ‎environment.‎

For the rest of the story: Willie was also employed by the Queen City Metro from August ‎‎1977 until his retirement in December 2002.‎
