Frequently Asked Questions
We know that you may have some questions about how our programs work, please see below for some answers to our most frequently asked questions.
How do I schedule a program? Please contact Education Specialist Gwen Z. Roth () or Education Assistant Niki Marengo () to schedule a program.
How long do programs last?
Most programs take 30 - 60 minutes depending on the program and audience size.
How many programs can I schedule?
We will present up to 6 programs per day at up to 3 sessions/dates per year at your school or scout group. We advise consulting with other teachers and grade levels in your building to coordinate programs and visits. This will ensure equal opportunities for all students and teachers.
How much do your programs cost?
Programs are FREE. A few programs may require you to provide some supplies. See program descriptions.
Are you available for specials clubs or after-school events?
We are happy to attend specials clubs or after-school events. Similar to regular school-day programs we will begin scheduling for the year starting on August 1. What role does the teacher play in the presentation?
Prior to our visit we encourage teachers to inform us of any topics or vocabulary that the students are learning or are preparing to learn. During our presentations, teacher should feel free to point out any vocabulary that they would like students to focus on or to supplement additional information. We are constantly learning new things in the classroom from teachers and students! We do ask for active participation in the discipline of the class so that we can continue through the program with little disruption. Please contact Education Specialist Gwen Z. Roth or Education Assistant Niki Marengo with any questions. |
