Stormwater is rain or snow melt that travels across the land into sewers and streams.
Stormwater picks up a wide range of pollutants before it end ends up in our streams and sewers, and can negatively impact stream ecosystems and human health. Adding labels to the storm drains in your community reminds residents that all drains lead to streams, and that nothing but clean water should ever be put in a storm drain.
Do you want to lead a storm drain labeling event with us?

These events begin with a short discussion about watersheds, runoff, and how storm drains are connect us all to the rivers and streams. Participants will get to use an enviroscape watershed model to visualize how different pollutants might end up in our waterways.
Then, participants are equipped with label application instructions, application tools, and trash bags to start adding labels! We will work with your group to select a route in your neighborhood and arrange any necessary permissions.
